The italian porphyry

The porphyry is indicated for outdoor paving which require weather resistance and high capacity of heavy loads of the surface.

The Trentino porphyry, effusive stone with natural surface was used, due to its beauty, since ancient times. The elegance of its colors are remarkable, ranging from gray to red to purple and has many nuances. Modern architecture takes advantage of this material to customize the open spaces and to give the buildings a basis of functionality and decoration.
Used in many urban environments and sapzi archtiettonici matches in a intelligenta in numerous countries around the world. There are thousands of jobs resulting from the different production types. Divided by thickness and SIZES Porphyry from the Trentino region are obtained cubes, tiles, irregular slabs (opus incertum), cords, binders, coarse tiles, ashlar, steps, tops, and subsequent processes, products with coasts segatem sheared, and glossy surfaces, semi-gloss, rough, flamed and brushed. With trenitno porphyry it can get elemtni tailored for street furniture. Respect of 'environment is one of the cornerstones of our company with careful management of our production waste is protected and monitored by numerous government agencies as well as in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Italian porphyry features

Trentino porphyry has excellent technical characteristics for the architectural, urban and decorative.

The chemical composition of the porphyry (over 70% silica, about 14% alumina, 8% alkali and small percentulai calcium, iron and magnesium), the mineral (quartz crystals, of sandino of plagioclase, and to a lesser extent of biotite and of pyroxenes in a vitreous paste), and the structure markedly porphyritic, give the stone of great wear resistance characteristics, physical-mechanical strength, and high resistewnza to chemical agents. The porphyry has rough surface which remains unchanged in time, not sdruccievole and has a maintenance cost prossechè null. The uniqueness dle product and processing makes it a required material worldwide.

The Trentino porphyry has excellent technological properties as noted by one of the laboratory study of the Earth Resources Department of Turin:

  • Flexural strength
  • Resistance to thermal expansion
  • Impact strength
  • Excellent hardness
  • Good coefficient of Absorption
  • Excellent resistance to frost
  • Wear resistance
  • Durability

The colors of porphyry

The mean colors of porphyry are red, grey, purple and orange. Basically porphyry are a mix of both.

The red porphyry presents mixed shades and uneven and is tending primarily to red or purple. A pavement with elements in red porphyry will have a very heated saturation, remember that the porphyry is often marked by yellow-orange rust spots, but it does not result in damage to its aesthetic beauty.

The gray porphyry differs in its mineral composition and coloring of various chemicals present in it. The gray porphyry, for example, possesses a considerable amount of iron. We can choose between a light gray and one more dark. Furthermore, if the porphyry sample has a large amount of olivine and serpentine, we will notice a color with green shades.

You can apply processes such as polishing on the porphyry area to get a great emphasis of its colors. The purple polished porphyry expresses a great hue and gloss and is suitable for very elegant and modern contexts, while the bush hammering and flaming tend to standardize the color and make it more tenuous.
